Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 14 June 2026 · Trades Office Limited (No. 17181500), trading as PlateProof · ICO: ZC133896
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs how you may use the PlateProof Service. It forms part of, and should be read with, the Terms of Service. By using the Service you agree to this AUP. We may suspend or terminate access for breach.
1. Lawful, honest use
The Service must be used lawfully and in good faith. In particular, you must not:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of food-safety, allergen-labelling, consumer-protection or data-protection law;
- create, sign off or publish allergen declarations you know or suspect to be false, incomplete or misleading;
- represent an AI suggestion as a verified declaration without the required human review and sign-off;
- use the Service to mislead a diner, customer, auditor or regulator.
Allergen declarations are safety-critical. Misusing the Service to produce a false or careless declaration can endanger people and is a serious breach of this AUP and of the law — the responsibility for the declaration is yours (see the Terms).
2. Accounts & authorisation
- keep your login credentials confidential and don't share accounts;
- ensure that anyone who reviews or signs off declarations under your organisation is authorised, competent and trained to do so;
- not impersonate another person or business, or misrepresent your authority to act for an organisation.
3. Platform integrity & security
You must not:
- upload malware, or content that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other customers' data, or our infrastructure;
- probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service except through our responsible-disclosure process (security@plateproof.io);
- scrape, harvest or extract data by automated means, or circumvent rate limits or access controls;
- interfere with, overload or disrupt the Service or the networks it runs on;
- resell or provide the Service to third parties except as expressly permitted.
4. Data you upload
You are responsible for the content you upload (photos, records, names). Only upload data you are entitled to process. The Service is designed to record allergen information about dishes; do not upload identifiable individuals’ health or dietary-requirement data (see the Privacy Policy).
5. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected breaches and may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe this AUP has been breached, or where necessary to protect people, other customers, or the Service. Where practical and lawful we’ll give notice, but we may act immediately for serious or safety-related breaches.
6. Reporting
Report misuse, abuse or security concerns to hello@plateproof.io (or security@plateproof.io for security issues).
